28 years after playing host to location filming for the 13th Bond film “Octopussy” (1983), India is once again due to be visited by the 007 production team. There is expected to be around 3 weeks of filming taking place with locations under consideration being the Konkan Railway, the Red Fort, and the city streets of Mumbai (possibly doubled within studio environs).

With a primary location now confirmed speculation as to aspects of the film’s plot with now doubtless kick off…Will Quantum reappear? Could the India/Pakistan conflict over Kashmir and aspects of terrorism be a factor?

Whatever the storyline it’s likely not to be detrimental to the image of India or filming would not be permitted. “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” had to use Sri Lanka to double for India when Indian authorities objected to the negative portrayal of their country in the script.
